What is Hyaluronic Acid?

You might have heard about hyaluronic acid being good for your skin but what is it and how does it work?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is naturally present in your body & is what keeps your skin plump, healthy & hydrated. Babies are born with lots of hyaluronic acid in their skin, which is why it’s so soft! But as we age we can lose up to two-thirds of our skin’s HA . As a result, our skin becomes thin, can begin to sag and show wrinkles.

Some skincare products contain Hyaluronic Acid in them. But topical products aren’t able to penetrate deep enough for HA to give its full benefits. This is why hyaluronic acid or skin hydrating injections are even more beneficial for your skin. HA injections hydrate your skin so that it appears soft, firm and more youthful.

HA Injections before & after *

What does the treatment involve?

The treatment involves injecting tiny droplets of hyaluronic acid gel all over the skin with very fine needles. These injections only go a few millimeters into the skin with help from an electronic hand piece for added comfort. The treatment itself takes only 45 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hyaluronic Acid Injections

Skin hydrating injections refresh the skin for natural looking rejuvenation. It lets you look like the healthiest version of yourself, and without looking ‘done’. In fact, many patients receive compliments on how radiant they look after their treatment. After their treatment, many patients describe their skin as:*

  • Glowing
  • Smooth
  • Fresh, dewy & hydrated
  • Plump
  • More firm
  • Reduced lines & wrinkles, especially in the delicate under eye area

Redensity HA injections are ideal for patients who are looking for a subtle and natural looking improvement in skin quality without a long downtime. Redensity is great for anyone wishing to:

  • Smooth out creases and wrinkles
  • Restore volume and plumpness to the skin
  • Hydrate the skin for a dewy complexion
  • Restore a youthful glow to the skin
  • Firm the skin

Redensity HA injections can refresh many areas of the body to plump the skin and improve its quality. The most popular areas for treatment are the face, neck, décolletage and hands.

The treatment uses shallow injections with very fine needles so most patients tolerate the treatment quite well. The Redensity formula also contains a local anaesthetic called lidocaine for extra comfort. We also apply a numbing cream 30 minutes before your treatment to dull any unpleasant feelings.

You may return to your normal activities straight after the Redensity treatment. However, it is common to have bruising, swelling and redness in the treatment area, though these effects normally subside after a few days. If you would like a cover up after your treatment, we strongly recommend our Oxygenetix foundation range which is designed especially for use after cosmetic procedures. Its breathable formula protects the skin to support healing and sooth irritation post-procedure.

For best results we recommend 3 treatments 3 weeks apart and then a maintenance session every 4-6 months after that.

Because the body absorbs HA, its effects are temporary and depend on several factors including your skin type, age, health & lifestyle. After your first 3 sessions, we suggest treatments every 4-6 months to maintain a healthy glow.
