09 Aug 6 ways to spring clean your skin
As we transition from winter to spring, many of our clients tend to find that their skin reacts to the elements and weather changes. Here are our top tips for getting your skin ready for the new season.
1. Achieve a clean slate
Spring is a great time to consider shedding away the dull and dry skin cells that accumulated over the winter months. Two key treatments to consider booking in at the start of spring are Clear & Brilliant® or a HydraFacial MD™. Clear + Brilliant® is a fractionated laser that resurfaces the skin and in doing so, refines large pores, sheds dead skin cells and stimulates collagen. HydraFacial MD™ is a four-step treatment, combining cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration, while infusing your skin with antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and peptides, improving the overall quality and health of your skin. Both of these treatments will leave your skin feeling supple, fresh, rejuvenated and glowing!
2. Introduce an eye cream or serum to your routine
They say that the eyes are the window to the soul, so spring is a great time to start taking care of the very delicate skin around your eye area by introducing an eye cream or an eye serum into your routine. Serums provide intense rejuvenation and work to restore skin to a healthy state. There are a range of different serums that focus on integrating different vitamins and minerals back in your skin; with the most common serums including vitamin A, B, C or E. Each serum carries different benefits, so make sure you book a consultation with <x clinic> to ensure you invest in the best serum for your skin.
3. Sunscreen, Sunscreen, Sunscreen
Wearing an everyday broad-spectrum SPF is vital in protecting your skin from damaging UVA and UVB rays, which can penetrate through clouds and glass and play a major part in ageing, not to mention the potential to cause skin cancers. Natural, zinc-based sunscreens have anti-inflammatory properties – perfect for protecting and soothing dry and sensitive skin. Ensure you include at a minimum an SPF30+ sunscreen as part of your morning skincare routine.
4. Achieve overall rejuvenation
Spring is the start of many parties and big events; from racing season and weddings to pre-festive season gatherings. To make sure you’re looking your party best, we recommend a series of injectable treatments. From dermal fillers restoring lost volume, enhancing and contouring your features, to anti-wrinkle injections to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; injectables will help you look fresh and youthful.
5. Boost your H2O
Longer days mean that we are generally more active as winter ends and spring starts. It is vital to ensure that you keep your skin hydrated – both inside and out. Water allows your body to flush out toxins and plays an important role in overall skin health. When you don’t drink enough water, not only do you feel sluggish, but your mood can decrease and your skin can appear sallow and grey. Keep a water bottle at the ready and keep yourself hydrated as you carry on with your day – your skin will thank you!
6. Look at your whole body
As much as humans don’t officially hibernate through the winter months, we do tend to reduce how active we are and lean on delicious (but unfortunately quite carb heavy) comfort foods. This is where our Trusculpt treatment can be a great solution. Aimed at contouring your body, Trusculpt can help eliminate pockets of fat around your abdomen, hips, arms and legs. Used as part of a healthy and active routine, Trusculpt can support you in shifting those stubborn areas.
